A day of felting.

Img_3382 A couple of Sundays ago, I went on a felting course, taught by Laura Brittain. Img_3227 These are her colourful bags. Img_3236 Felting, as we all discovered, is very physical. There is a lot of manipulation of the fibres, lots of water and soap. Img_3221 But to extract the thin layers of fibres from the wads of roving, before laying them down to create your design, you need a delicate touch. Img_3380 Then there is the element of surprise, you never know exactly how the design will turn out. This was the first piece we did, it was an exercise in discovering what happens with the fibres, before moving on to.............. Img_3381 making a bag! This is the back of the bag, and the front............. Img_3378 Not a bad amount of output for one day............ Laura Brittain can be contacted at: LauraBrittain@ecosse.net.
