Hugo and I drove up to Edinburgh, along the scenic, twisty roads route, last Saturday................The purple hills along the way were so vibrant, the heather looked as though it had been coloured with a magical, other-worldly paint brush...............
It was glorious.

My little camera, quite simply, does not do justice to the colour of the landscape............... Plus, standing there in the stillness.......... amongst the rolling lilac purple haze hills............ well, there's nothing quite like that sensation of quiet in nature................ and feeling part of it..............

We moved on quickly when a line of cars pulled up not far away, people spilling out of the vehicles, brandishing shot guns for an afternoon of hunting.
To change the subject completely.............. I've just taken photographs of the finished basement, to share with you! I just need to upload them.............. so I'll reveal all next week............. for the curious amongst you............
Have a lovely weekend...............
oooh those colours are fantastic, we're going to Scotland in 2 weeks, and all of a sudden I'm quite excited about it!

Someone's been using that magical paint brush on the Yorkshire moorland too.

we went walking in the north yorkshire moors near the cottage Vanessa, last weekend and I took photos very like these ones - isn't heather just WONDAIR? The beautiful purple tinged hills with the greener down dale areas, it was just sigh makingly pretty. I also fell over, bum down in loads of mud but that's another story :-)

nice to talk to you today - thank you for my card and heart (which is hung up on a door knob). Your basement looks fantastic. Nice to see we've still got the same sofas! Noah didn't break anything falling down the stairs, and Tim did some planting in the front garden.
He'll send photos when we get your e-mail address...

Hi there - I love your photo of the purple Heather - and was wondering if you would mind if I used it on my Church website - we are using different colours inspired by nature in the design and the colours on this are just beautiful. If you like I can email you how it would look.
Take care and thanks alot, Liz Guest
