............ There was HUGE excitement here on Friday .............. enormous giddy excitement .................. because on Friday morning I'd let everyone know that I had opened an
etsy shop, and by the evening of that day, I had sold six paintings .............. Three privately, and three through etsy .................... By the evening, I was feeling a little faint, and emotionally drained from all the excitement ................ my life is a fairly placid one, and I'm not used to extremes of emotion, though to be honest, I could easily get used to that sort of extreme emotion.... .................. I had lots of fun wrapping them, ready to send off, (or be collected) ................. First comes the tracing paper, to protect the picture, then comes the first card sandwich (card either side of the painting), then there's the important pretty tissue paper wrapping, tied with stripy red and white string (I also have green and stripy, and blue and stripy string, sourced after much searching on the web). I then do the hand painted tag, which I love painting decoratively, and I replace the thin white thread that comes with the tags, with red and white striped string, to match the string tied around the package. There is one more card sandwich, but using thicker card this time .................... and finally, it is all wrapped in brown paper, tied with red and white stripy string (which I hope doesn't come off in the post), addressed, and sent off to it's new home .................. I have probably bored you rigid with this description............ sorry! ........... But as you can probably tell, I love doing all that wrapping, tag painting bit................. I hope it's not like getting in to Fort knox, opening my parcels......................... By Sunday evening, I'd sold another painting privately! Woo hoo! ................

If you'd like to take a look at my etsy shop, please click
here, there's also a link in my left hand sidebar, at the top .........................
Good Morning Mrs Excitable!
Awwwww I LOVED sharing Friday with you, it was soo much fun, I swear my heart was pounding with excitement here on your behalf.
Can I just say, as a recipient of one of your lovingly wrapped parcels, that it was an absolute delight dealing with the layers, with the papers and card and string.
You know what, wrapping and presentation should not really matter a jot in the big scheme of things, but actually it does, it REalLy does. And you wrap and present to perfection Vanessa, you were so meant to have a mail order shop!
Me thinks you need to get busy painting because your shop shelves will be getting bare!
have a great day

Congratulations Vanessa! I bet you're going to have to do lots and lots of painting to keep your etsy shop stocked.
The packaging is delightful. I think lovely wrapping is a gift in itself!

Oooh, the excitement may just be too much! When I come to collect my picture you may just have to speak to pillarboxred for a while. I'll just be sitting there, undecided as to wether to open the package or else save it for home. Hmmm.
Well done, though I'm not at all surprised - the paintings are truly delightful.

How on earth did I miss this! I've been wondering for ages if you were going to do something like this and trying to pluck up the courage to ask!
I've just been and bought the daffodil one for my Mum for Christmas! Thank-you!
