Now here's a knitting pattern I recommend................ This
'Simple Jacket' by Debbie Bliss............. From her 'Coastlines' book.................

........... The person modeling this cardigan, in the book, was wearing it in the same lime green colour I've knitted it in............ It was that zingy colour that caught my eye in the first place.............. I just love lime green...................

...........I knitted my cardigan in the specified
'Debbie Bliss Pure Cotton', no.12, lime green, which is lovely and soft, though it does bobble a bit.................... Though to be honest, I wore it a lot when the weather was warmer...................

I also think I knitted it a size too big............. I knitted it in the medium........... the small might have turned out a little less roomy.............. Oh, and I must re-position the button, the front is a little lop-sided!

Debbie Bliss says this is a pattern that can be knitted up in 'Cashmerino Aran', so it's a cardigan that can be worn in the winter........... I'm very tempted to do that............. it's a very easy pattern, and I think, rewarding.............. I wore it many times in the Summer months.............. But the cotton yarn is just too cold for our winter climate............ Another excuse to buy yet more yarn, so I can knit the winter version, don't you think?!!!!!!
Oooh Vanessa, I adore that colour, and the shape is such a good one. Can feel the buying urge - Ring a Rosie will have to be off limits for the time being. It's a very long time since I made anything for myself and it may just have to be knitted.

Gorgeous Vanessa :: you and the cardi!
Now if I were ever ever to attempt a knitted garment (and I did used to knit myslff garments when I was a teenager), this would be it. Love the simplicity, the shape, the single button.
And you know, the DB Cashmerino Aran is yarn TO DIE FOR (I have several balls in my stash basket), so soft and luxuriousl, and the colours...oh my. I would of course make myself a multi-coloured striped one.
Maybe one day.......

Thank you for your very kind email which my computer has just condescended to show me. It is being horribly temperamental. I've just had a look at your paintings. Great fresh technique and placement. As for the cardigan. It has been ages since I knitted anything, but this might just be the garment to tempt me back to the needles. I look forward to visiting you again.

Your sweater turned out beautifully, Vanessa. I wanted to take this time to tell you how much I like your little paintings. You are quite talented and your artwork is fresh and lovely.
