I was just thinking............. the fact that Douglas is feeling under the weather at the moment is probably of no interest to anyone but myself, Hugo, and Douglas himself, (Ellie couldn't really care less). But as I have these sweet photos of Douglas hiding behind Hugo, while Hugo reads his magazine during his lunch break, means I have a good opportunity to go on about Douglas's swollen paw................

Poor boy............ are you feeling lousy? My poor little boy..................... I rushed Douglas off to the vet last Friday, when I noticed that he was walking on three legs, or rather, sort of hopping along, and his paw had swollen to gigantic, (exaggeration of worried mother here), proportions. I won't go in to the details of the vets remedy, I'll just say that Douglas is recovering in that accelerated way animals miraculously manage.................

The vet thinks the cause of Douglas's distress is probably a thorn or sharp object that went deep in to his paw, resulting in an infection........................ Cuddling, that's one of Douglas's joys in life..................... Good for helping the recovery of a very small dog............................ Still, my poor, poor little boy.............
