Traditionally, a red Rose is given on Valentine's day isn't it? Some still stick to the old ways, but I'm quite partial to alternative colours when it comes to my Valentine's flowers, And Hugo always obliges! We have a new florist in town. It's a flower shop of great beauty, and if I'm ever in its vicinity, you'll see me lurking around, gazing in through the window, or actually inside buying the odd stem.

I'd dropped light-hearted hints to Hugo, that if he was ever thinking about buying me flowers, well, the new flower shop was near to his work place.............. I think I also went on and on about how lovely the shop was, and how gorgeous the flowers. My subtle dropping of great big thumping hints did not go unnoticed................... And as Valentine's Day approached, I quietly wondered to myself if Hugo would be getting me flowers from the new florist, (because he would be getting me flowers), and I also found myself anticipating the excitement of what colours my gift would be..................

On the morning of Valentine's Day, my gift was a huge bunch of yellow flowers............... wonderful! Sunny and stunning, there are Ranunculus, Freesias, Tulips, and a lovely little daisy like flower................. A stunning display. Oh and it's a bouquet with flowers, not the foliage with a few half dead flowers that some florists try and fob you off with.................... And I love it.

........

.............

Hugo was given a large selection of chocolate for his Valentine's gift, the best being the Rose flavoured, (he insisted I try it). So between the two of us, we were very happy little bunny rabbits, me with my beloved flowers, Hugo with his beloved chocolate.......... Happy to have each other as our Valentine's.

What a delightful collection of flowers! Very tastefully put together. They would make a gorgeous water color painting by it's owner...

I must say Vanessa i agree with Kitchen Pink, far better than red roses, don't you think they are too common looking now, what joy your beautiful flowers give, far, far more enjoyable to admire. You are a lucky girl, i think the florist got lost on the way to me, am still waiting, LoL!

Such beautiful flowers. Much nicer than a scentless red rose (though the old fashioned ones do smell gorgeous xx
