Hello and welcome! It's cup of tea time here. Time to relax, and if you'd care to, time to wiggle your toes in the colour I'm going to show you today.
I've been saving this post for a while now. I must have taken these photos in the Spring of this year,(with my old camera!). I've been waiting for just the right moment to give you a look. I do that, I take photos, and keep them, thinking, I'll show them on a day when I need a colour boost.
It's not that I need a colour boost today, though I always love a colour boost, no, it's just that I can't wait any longer to show you these pictures, and today feels like the right day to show you! Don't know why, just does!
It all started with these flowers. Wait! No, to be precise, it all started with ......................
.........................These flowers! You might be thinking, blimey, that's a lot of flowers for one person to have. You'd be right! But I can't walk past any flowers that are marked down in price, without paying close attention! The roses, for some bizarre reason, were £1.50. I remember that, because they were so cheap. The Narcissi were cut from my own garden, and the purple Tulips and fiery orange Ranunculus were bought, not quite so cheaply, from my local florist.
These flowers were on the cabinet next to me as I worked. Having wonderful flowers so near me, is always a form of torture on one hand, and happiness on the other. That's because I want to stop the work I'm doing, and paint the flowers, which I cant, so that's torture. And the happiness, well, having that sunburst of colour nearby is the most mood enhancing thing I know!
So there I was, working away, glancing occassionally at my precious flowers, and basking in the colourful feel good rays. I thought about those colours, and how extraordinary they were, and I thought "interesting colour combination for a crochet square.............."
Then I thought, "well, I should really make a note of these colours for future use". My Watercolours and brushes were to hand, my notebook was nearby, so I got to work.
These colour combinations would make some ZINGY crochet squares, wouldn't they?!!! And I love the idea of being inspired by the colour combinations of flowers. Nature is marvellous, isn't it?
I'm feeling tipsy with all this colour, it's great!
On this high note, I'd better get going. I've just realised the time, and I've got to make something to eat before going to my Wednesday night knitting group meeting.
I was just thinking, if I ate the colours in this post, I'd probably see fairies skidding down rainbows, they're like some sort of wholesome halucinatory substance aren't they?! So on a very happy, skippy note, ta-ra and see you tomorrow! Love Vanessa xxx
Actually, I can't resist one more photo............
And just one more................ The last one, I promise!
wonderful pictures Vanessa..I love them...what a good idea to take nature as your inspiration for colour combinations...I never thought of that..loking forward to seeing that blanket now....using the lovely colours...

Fabulous! You've got that colour thing going on! Your photo's made me feel the way I do when glancing out the window and seeing the giant pink roses cascading over our fence - it's like your heart will burst with the pure joy of it. Thanks for sharing.

Nature just doesn't get it wrong does it.
I have a quilt on the go which is like an English rose garden which has been rained on. Lovely dark greens with rosy pinks poking through. Would love to see what you do with your little crochet plan x

Those flowers look absolutely gorgeous against your pink wall. I think I may be inspired to make a brooch in this colourway once my hand is better! Would you mind??? Jane x
