Oooohh it's nice to sit down! And it's so nice to be sitting down and doing a blog post! I've been very erratic in my posting recently, I'm ever so sorry, it's just that my cold turned out to be the cold from hell, and just left me with very little energy for anything. But here I am! Back again! And hopefully back to my normal cheerful self, ready to share life with you all. Thank you for all your kind messages and comments, I read them all, and each one was very much appreciated. Thank you.
The photograph above? I think the flowers are Pinks, rather than Carnations, Pinks are generally smaller, not quite as blousy as Carnations. I could be wrong, they could be Carnations. Which is funny to me, because I always thought I didn't like Carnations. Carnations and Pinks are part of the Dianthus family, and I recently discovered that there's a soceity for people addicted to Pinks and Carnations, here in the U.K. It's called the BNCS, or the British National Carnation Soceity (!), and you can find the link here.
Maybe I like Pinks because they're a very Cath Kidstony type flower, don't you think? (Maybe Cath Kidston is forming my tastes without me realising it). The cup and saucer the flowers are sitting in are Cath Kidston, from her Spray Flowers range.Sometimes I feel like calling Cath kidston just "Cath". I'm sure everyone would know who I'm referring to.
I'm not saying that Pinks need to be displayed in one of Cath's cups to look pretty.
(And you know what? Even if these are actually Carnations, I prefer calling them Pinks, just sounds so pretty.................. Pinks).Cath sold a fabric pattern with Carnations in the design, didn't she? No longer available. (I have to admit, I wasn't keen on that fabric design, it didn't do it for me).
Now, did you notice that yarn lurking in the background, of the first picture in this post? You did? You didn't?!
Would you like to see it? You would? You wouldn't?!!!!
I'll show you tomorrow, (it's Tuesday tomorrow). And then on Wednesday, I'll show you what it's being used for.
It's lovely to be back, dear readers, ever so lovely to be back in the land of the living, and to be able to say hello. But for now I'm going to say, cheerio till tomorrow, when I shall be sharing a bit of yarniness with you. Cheerio! Love Vanessa xxx

Hi Vanessa,
Hope you're back with us for good now, I've been missing my nightly fix of colourful beauty chez vous, there's still the V&T come 7pm but no Vanessa blog to accompany it. I love the pinks, especially in Cath's cup. I think we can safely call her Cath. I'm finding her new book a bit pants though. Stop teasing with the yarn, young lady...

Madam Kidston is eternally referred to as Cath in our house. My friends only ever ask once who I am talking about! :o)

Pinks ! ! ! !
Am sitting here right next to my Sunday flower purchase and thought I was enjoying small carnations. But, I do beleive there are the same as your Pinks! ! !
Learn something every day.
Enjoy your blog and your 'color'
Glad to hear you're on the mend from your recent 'case of the punies'.

Lovely to see you back Vanessa but I'm sorry to hear about your horrid, draining cold. I do hope it's all cleared up now.
Your little pinks have cheered me no end this evening. They're so pretty. Oh yes, lovely indeed. As is that yarn for that matter. I am excited to see what you are making with it - there are some delicious colours there.

I prefer pinks to carnations and like the way that they don't have to be pink to be pinks. Glad you are on the mend, bet all that lovely yarn is helping.

I love that first picture!!! I thought it was just the mug... but I must have subconsciously seen the yarn! Ooo...it looks so yummy!
I can't wait to see it in all its yarn-y splendor!
So glad you're feeling better!

Glad to hear you're feeling better vanessa and I can only sympathize as I have been feeling rotten for a few days myself. Hope the sunshine helps x

So good to hear you're feeling chirpy again! (I've got the sniffles this week).
I went to a charity coffee morning the other day, there were 'Cath' cups and saucers. I was shocked that one of my neighbours had never heard of CK!!!
I'm more Emma Bridgewater than CK. And I do find it amusing that Cath herself is a hard working urban business woman, feeding her family on ready meals and never cooks a cupcake! Yet she has women all over the country in her flowery spell!
Have fun with that scruptious yarn...

Hello there! Glad you're feeling a little more back to normanl. Love all your holiday pics in the last post, especially the very colourful 'goods for sale' photos. Very pretty Cath Kidson cup and saucer too, although I am a little biased, as I have a mug in the same design that I drink my coffee from at school! Enjoy the rest of the week!ROS

I have an idea - I'll send you all of my buttons (about 400) and you can put them on your beautiful painted cards for me!!!! What a fabulous idea!
