Hello! Easter hopped by quickly, at a fine old lollop really, did you find that? I hope you had a WONDERFUL Easter?!
We went to a Christening on Easter day.
It would have been a very special thing if the baby being christened had been dressed up as a little Easter Bunny Rabbit, with white ears and a little pompom tail!!!!!! Such a missed opportunity there! She's crawling, almost walking, so her meanderings in the church, and at the reception, (pompom tail bobbling along), would have been GREAT!
Though having said this, how many parents would want to dress their baby up as a bunny on the serious occasion of a Christening? And babies often don't like things on their heads, so the essential part of the costume (the ears) would have been missing.
Beaten by the practicalities.
It's a funny old week, yesterday was a holiday, and Friday is a holiday because of the Royal wedding, so we have three working days to this week. Not that I keep to things like public holidays and weekends, my days are mostly working days, but I'm aware of them because in Hugo's job he gets to be off work on these public holidays.
I bet I'm not the only one who's feeling slightly discombobulated.
And so what do I have for you today?
Greetings cards!
I've put nine packs of seven greetings cards with envelopes, in my etsy shop, link here.
I've decided to start off small on this little endeavor, dip my toe in the water sort-of-thing, and see how it all goes.
All seven cards in the pack feature my paper mache sculptures, and I've chosen images that could be sent for various different occasions.
Well, I'm going to love you and leave you, because I need a cup of tea, and I'm almost finished on my latest knitted dress, so I'm itching to finish it. Cheerio! Love Vanessa xxx
Lovely - I'm sure they'll sell well - bet it was hard to choose which images to use!

they are so lovely Vanessa! I had a peek in your etsy shop... ooh I am sooooo tempted all the way down here!
I agree, a bunny at an easter christening would have been so much more fun than a white christening dress!

Well, I'm not off on Friday - I have to go to work, so I'm a bit jealous of the people who have got a public holiday. It doesn't bother me really, but it would have been nice to have an extra day off. Anyway, your cards are gorgeous. I can't really stretch to a papier mache model, but the cards would be the next best thing.

Oh, Vanessa - The cards look great! I've placed my order and can't wait to see them in person. Now wasn't it sweet of them to allow their portraits to be shared with all of us in such a lovely format. You have such delicious friends!

Love the cards Vanessa. I'm certainly having trouble keeping all these bank holiday dates straight - worse I think because they're meaningless in our household where every day's the same. Can't wait to see the dress.

I thought of you today I bought some 1970's sewing/knitting books and there were lots of patterns for knitted dresses. There was also a knitted jumpsuit and knickerbockers and yes I did laugh out loud.

I think the cards are a hit. You have made your work accessible to everyone. Wouldn't they all look great hanging as a bunting? That way we wouldn't have to part with them. Carolina

Love the cards! Ran off and put some in my "shopping cart" only to be told they don't ship to Canada. Running off now for a little cry...

I was too late too! Hope you'll do some more! By the way, I really enjoyed seeing your photos of Levens Hall. I was there earlier this month too - it's one of my favourite places to visit in the Lake District.
