Hello! And how are you this "we shan't talk about the weather" day? Well I hope?
And me? I'm working on the cover art work for the mole book I finished illustrating recently, and when that's finished, I'll hopefully be moving on to a project that has been a long time in the brewing, fingers crossed.
As a little side line, to try and earn some extra coppers, I've been working on producing some prints of my paintings and illustrations, and I've very, very tentatively been testing the waters with them. It's been a learning curve of twists and bends, and it's been difficult at times, especially with the setting up costs. But I'm slowly getting there.
Hugo has been helping me an enormous amount with the computer side of it all, making labels, logos, and lots of other things. He has spent many, many hours working on it all for me. We came up with a logo of "Pink and Green Press" under which all my different prints were to be sold.
Then in the process of selling my prints through galleries, I've found that the illustration work has sold best, and so I've decided to focus on prints of my illustrations, with a logo of "Vanessa Cabban prints".
I've been trying out a few different ideas, most of them weren't quite right.
I think I hit on what I didn't know I was after, with the one above.
There are other things to design too, and now I know the direction I'm going in, it will hopefully be easier. When these are finished and printed and looking just so, I'll show them to you, how about that?
I'd better go and check I haven't got pasta sauce on my chin, (from the supper I've been eating inbetween doing this post), before I go off to my knitting group meeting. Bliss! A couple of hours of knitting and gentle chit-chat, with a cup of tea and a biscuit thrown in, my idea of fun! Cheerio and ta-ra then! Love Vanessa xxx
